Listening to Focus on the Family's broadcast today was very encouraging; hearing what God did in California for marriage through His people. Californians were praying and fasting and crying out with raised hands, and falling prostrate before Him. What an awesome picture of humbling themselves, praying, seeking His face and turning from their ways! What a wonderful report of our Lord hearing the cries of His people and responding. You can listen to it here:

What if we did that for abortion? I came across a site today that had photos of abortion. You don't need to go there, just think about it for a minute, and you will get sick. You will be grieving with me. Fortunately the photos were very small... but clear enough to wrench my heart. I fell prostrate in my heart over the loss of innocent life that we have allowed to take place in our land. Over the very little I, myself have done about it. Shame on me. For failing to pray fervently for the lives of the innocent little babies. Our land is polluted by innocent blood...Lord, have mercy on us all!
And our country just elected a President who unashamedly supports abortion. One who said he wouldn't want to punish his daughter with a "baby" if she didn't want it... Lord have mercy! Lord how we need you. Come, Lord Jesus, Come!!
Dr Dobson said he is grieving...not the election of Mr. Obama. He is grieving the loss of things he has fought so hard for these past years. May God bless him for fighting. We all need to fight harder...on our knees. Not only on our knees, but exposing evil and resisting it. Calling sin what it is...abortion-murder. G*y marriage-an abomination and perversion of God's picture of Him with his Bride. Materialism-idolatry. Eastern/pagan practices in the church-adultery. Prayerlessness-vain pride. Living together or having s*x without being married-immorality. Swearing-vulgar, filthy, offensive words. God's name in vain-arrogance. Lying-satanic. Drunkeness and drugs-idolatry.
Our Loving, Pure, Holy, Beautiful Savior HATES these things and so should we.
Yes, I have hope. Yes, I know in the end we win. I know that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I rejoice in Jesus, but I am also grieving with Him. Like when He said, Luke 13:34"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
O America, America, you who commit and tolerate sin all around you, how Jesus longs to open your eyes and enable you to see Him, to come to Him and be saved from your sin! Repent and be saved!! John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
You can choose to go your own way, but in the end it leads to death.
Will you pray with me?
Lord God of Heaven and Earth, thank you that you are on your throne, that You are sovereign. Thank you that you have given us free will, and the ugliness in the world is not of you, it is a result of sin, and foolish choices and Sat*nic influence.
Thank you that you are merciful. Lord, have mercy on our land. Therein lies our hope. Enable President-elect Obama to see truth about abortion. To see truth about You. That You are just and merciful. Soften the hearts of the abortion performers to see what they are doing! Help the victims of abortion-those mothers with painful regrets to heal in their hearts and their bodies. Send your people to tell them about your love and forgiveness and freedom found in you because you paid the price. You shed your own innocent blood on behalf of us-sinners. Thank you that because you did that, salvation is a free gift, that all we have to do is admit we are sinners in need of your saving grace, come to the cross and recieve eternal life. Wow!
Make Yourself known in our land, be glorified through your people. Be glorified through me. May we shine like beacons in the darkness by living holy lives and living lives of love. Not because of our own righteousness, but because you have given us yours. You exchanged your life for ours. There is nothing good in us, only You. Thank you that you have given us power over sin, it is no longer our master. We serve You, the Living God!
Help us, your children to remain faithful as disdain for You grows. Give us the grace to remain true to You, to uphold your beautiful Word. Thank you for those you have called to fight for truth and righteousness! Thank you for the ACLJ, for Focus on the Family, for VOM, and others who risk much on behalf of the Gospel. Those who continue to seek your kingdom and your righteousness here in America. Help us to continue in love and faith and hope in Your goodness, wisdom, and power.
We love you Lord! In Jesus' precious, perfect Name, Amen. YOU ARE MY KING!

Lord, have mercy on our people. Forgive us our sins. Hear our prayers. Heal our lands.
I was able to catch some of the show today. We need to humble ourselves and pray. I am praying with you!

Hi Kathy,
I am certain I have visited this blog a few times, previously.
I want to thank you for stopping by my blog, 'Journaling For Growth' and leaving the link to the article that opposes tolerance. I left a comment on it at my site, if you should get back there again.
What I appreciated most about the article was the reminder of Romans 2:4, that it is kindness that leads us to repentance. I feel that I will state this for now on when I am attempting to have a discussion that is centered on tolerance.
I myself, too many times end up telling someone something with an effort to be kind. It then is only taken as a suggestion. I know they get it when I am forceful, but that usually effects the relationship.
I prayed the prayer you prayed and wrote down at the bottom of your blog. Abortion is also one of the things I oppose. I find way too often in the church, even, that tolerance is expressed. The answer I recieve from people is
'It is a person's right on what they do with their body. It is between that person and God.'
Well, I can't argue with that. Especially if the person says they are aware that they must be accountable to God. But, I still hate abortion. I hate the partial birth method and I feel disdain for people who support abortion.
I remember posting on the Comcast Political Forum the comments Obama made not wanting his daughter's to be punished by and unwanted pregnancy or 'mistake' as he called it and then said he wanted to teach his daughters morality.
On the forum, my statement was that people want to elect such a non-compassionate man as one who would have his own grand children aborted.
Kathy,
If you would like, I would be glad to promote your blog in the network I and my wife are in. Just come back to my blog and say thanks for stopping by your blog. I will take that as an affirmation. Then, I will email or comment to everyone in my network that they should visit your blog. When they do, be ready to offer exchanging in hosting a link to their blog on your blog and vise versa. You will be pretty busy at first.

Kathy---THIS is a powerful post and testimony of what we should be paying attention to. In these last days...the enemy will work harder...we must PRAY harder!
I love your heart---you are such a blessing! The Lord is pouring His Spirit out on hungry hearts...I WANT MORE OF HIM!!!
I am praying too. My heart has just been so heavy since Tuesday evening. All the little babies....
I love Dr. Dobson - he has fought the good fight. Sometimes it takes a while to see the final outcome.
What a wonderful post!!! I am so happy for California! I do agree we need to fall down on our knees in fervant prayer! Here in Michigan 2 big proposals pasted, one on stem cell! I have thought alot this week about it being "a slow fade"!
Bless you for your comments. I will join in the choir of prayers. We must remember not to fear for there is no greater power than the power of God. We must pray that no matter what, no matter what we want or someone else wants, its what God wants that matters. His will be done and we must be sure to be in His grace-filled will.
Thanks for sharing and I love your blog.
Hey, Kathy, thanks for visiting my site today. We share similar convictions, and I'm always glad to meet another blogger with teenagers! Your shop looks lovely; I clicked on all the pics. I love the pic of the white two-story house. You are blessed to be able to run a little shop like that, so quaint and sweet.
This is such a good post, Kathy. I did listen to the Focus on the Family airing and I was blessed to hear about all of the people praying and singing together in Cali. I was feeling a little depressed cause it seemed as though God wasn't doing anything in the election, and even though I know that's not true, it was a big help to know that he DOES still care and he IS still working. And he is in control. We don't know exactly why he allowed this man to be elected but we know he is in control. This eased my heart greatly. BTW, your shop is very cute!
Hi Kathy,
I am keeping in touch with those who I feel will be interested to know that Obama is not Presidente Elect until the Electoral College votes on December 15. Surely there is nothing to prohibbit this happening. Right? Well, The Supreme Court has ordered Obama to produce a vaulted copy of his birth certificate by Dec. 1. Talk Wisdom - click here to read of the Dec. 1, 2008 mandate by the Supreme Court
If you read my letter to Obama about abortion(prior to him getting elected), you know my story and my brokenness. I can't remember if you commented. Sorry.
Thank you for your precious prayer. I prayed it with you. Thank you for speaking on behalf of issues that break God's heart.
Praying makes a difference.
Amen my friend. Echoing your prayer tonight. We can no longer be idle, waiting for others to make the hard choices, to take the hard stand. May God give us grace and strength! Thank you for sharing this beautiful, heartfelt post.
Blessings,
Tracy
Kathy,
I found you through Starr's blog, Threshhold Moments...
Great post. And Yessirreee, I am a Californian and for once, on the day after the election, I was proud of my state.
You have no idea how many times I have wanted to run from here!
Loved your precious pictures of your home. Just darling.
