Silence~It Builds Faith in the Waiting

It was clear from the get-go of meeting them, that they were believers & lovers of Jesus, and our spirits connected instantly. This is an excerpt from an email I sent to the family purchasing our farm. They are working through some of their plans. And we wait...
"It is so very encouraging to see God's hand continuing to guide and bless and direct His plans. It  feels like we are riding His wave  and are waiting for where we will land! The Lord has been speaking to me about waiting and trusting in the silence...stretching my faith~we are always in training aren't we? We are proceeding with life in "we sold the farm mode" with no signatures, no appointments...and He has made it clear that I no longer live, but Christ lives in me and the life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and died for me (Galatians 2:20)!!! And I rejoice~to God be the glory!

In The Circle Maker, Mark Batterson expressed that it is NOT our reputation on the line but God's when we trust Him. I LOVE that!!! I can relinquish all to Him and trust that whatever the process, whatever the outcome He is making Himself known to the onlookers, the curious and the skeptic, and moving for our good in this life and the next!!!"
Yesterday I spent a few hours cleaning out my lily bed. The one where I cleared out the back side to make room for my little outdoor nook. I had just enough time left before the cool of evening set in to sit, listen to the birds sing, and thank God for the years of blessed memories we have enjoyed here with our family.

Today I face the next two weeks of saying goodbye to my little shop and its shoppers in this location. That is one of the more difficult parts of this journey...another post for another day.
My consolation in good-byes: the new beginnings.
See, the former things have taken place,

    and new things I declare;

before they spring into being

    I announce them to you.”

Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise from the ends of the earth,
you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,
you islands, and all who live in them.

Isaiah 42:9-10

This is my first time here and I can feel your bittersweet as you prepare for good byes. Just this one picture alone makes me want to wander your farm and sink my toes in the dirt and sniff a few flowers. I agree wholly that silence is an ingredient for faith building. Blessings as you wait and trust.

I've moved several times in my life, and the leaving is always difficult. However, we never really lose our old friends but simply expand the circle as we add new ones when we settle into a new place.

As you listen in your moments of stillness may you hear God's promises to be with you wherever you go.

I love your little outdoor nook, your gardens, the blessings in stillness, in waiting, the faith-building you so graciously share as you journey through change. Thank you for quiet moments in the midst of life -- small moments to share and celebrate, to pause and reflect and hope and dream and live.

Hi, Kathy, it's me again- your Midwest blogging friend :) I'm in Pella, IA. Just a small town tucked amongst cornfields. I used to vacation with my family in Wisconsin when I was a little girl. My mom would make my dad stop along the road so she could take pictures of "beautiful barns" or interesting ones. It turned into a family joke- "it will take twice as long to travel thru WI if Mom's with us!" Wondering where God will lead you next. Praying you'll know He's gone ahead of you.
